The Cotswolds
Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds encompasses many picturesque villages within the counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and a few others. As you’re driven through one of England's most beautiful regions you’ll be treated to unmissable views of medieval villages and bustling market towns, rolling hills and the breath-taking countryside.

Bampton, a charming village in Oxfordshire, England, rose to prominence as the filming location for the beloved television series Downton Abbey. Revered for its picturesque streets and well-preserved historic architecture, Bampton authentically portrayed the fictional village of Downton in the show, with its St. Mary's Church serving as a central backdrop for key story events. Notably, Bampton Library played a unique role by hosting the Downton Abbey 'behind the scenes' exhibition, offering fans an immersive experience into the making of the series. This exhibition further solidifies Bampton's cultural significance in the world of film and television, creating a tangible link between the fictional world of Downton Abbey and the village's timeless charm, making it a must-visit destination for both enthusiasts and curious visitors alike.
The enchanting Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the Venice of the Cotswolds. Consistently recognized as one of England's most beautiful villages, it's a perfect opportunity to keep your cameras handy! Step away from the sightseeing for a while and relish a delightful two-course lunch at a quaint and authentically rustic British pub tucked away in the heart of the Cotswolds.
