Your ninety minute fully guided walking tour will start at Barclays bank, where you will be greeted by your local English speaking tour guide. You will explore many of the royal sites and landmarks of Windsor and hear about the tales and of past and present. Windsor was where Harry and Megan were married on 19th May 2018, but Windsor’s royal history dates back many hundreds of years.
Our current Queen (Queen Elizabeth II) has a statue at Bachelors Acre of her and her much-loved corgis. That you will visit. You will then head to Victoria barracks to see the soldiers statue to the fallen Irish guardsmen. Its then off to Park Street to view the beautiful Brewers Pub, which dates back to 1792.
The Long Walk is an historic 3 mile avenue from Windsor Castle to the Copper Horse Statue. Where you can catch a glimpse of the famous deer. Here you will stop for a few minutes to discuss state rooms of the castle and take photos. Its then onto the bricked in windows to hear about the ‘Window tax’. After heading to Henry VIII’s gate for a view of the round tower and Charles I’s warrant of execution plaque from 1649. You will head to Windsor Parish Church of St John the Baptist. That will conclude your tour, giving you memories that will last for many years.
