Itinerary

Enjoy a day in Windsor, exploring at your own pace with this relaxing day trip by rail. Begin at Paddington Station, checking in at 8.50am in time for your departure at 9.21am. Fell free to meet a Golden Tours representative at the office in Paddington (2 min from the station) located: 145 Praed Street, London W2 1RL. All that’s left is to take your seats and head off towards Windsor.

Explore the beautiful Berkshire town of Windsor at your own pace with its rich Royal history, pretty countryside walks and a quaint town centre.

Visit Windsor Castle
Discover why the impressive castle is the King’s favourite weekend residence and explore the rich history contained within its walls. See Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, explore the opulent State Apartments with their priceless artworks, including pieces by Rembrandt and Leonardo Da Vinci and pay a visit to St George’s Chapel, the final resting place of Queen Mary, Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth II.

The tour is unescorted, accompanied by an audio guide and lasts approximately two hours.

Return to London: You are free to choose when you return. Trains return to London every 20-30 minutes until approximately 10pm

Please note there is an interchanged at Slough Station as there is no direct train to Windsor and Eton Central from/to Paddington.

Windsor Castle is only open on Thursday to Monday:
1st of March to 31st of October: 10am - 5.15pm (last admission time 4pm)
1st of November to 28th of February: 10am - 4.15pm (last admission time 3pm)
  • 25 and 26 December – Castle completely closed.


Semi-State Rooms
Entrance to the State Apartments closes 30 minutes after the last admission time.

St. George’s Chapel
The chapel closes early on the following date:
Thursday, 23 December (closed from 13:00)
Friday, 24 December (closed from 13:00)
St George’s Chapel is also closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services.
